You know how like when you wake up from a deep sleep and then you look down and realize that while you were sleeping someone came and cut off all your arms and your legs and you’re like “Fuuuuuuuuuuuck dude, I needed those.” and you’re like “This sucks. Now what am I supposed to do?” and you want to sit up and go find the bastards who did this and tell them to put your arms and legs back, but you can’t…because you can’t sit up, you can’t move, you can’t do anything except just sit there and stare and curse because you don’t have any arms or legs… and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
It was exactly like that. That is exactly what it was like the day I woke up and saw that my computer had died. I was in shock for a long time, not knowing what to do. Without a computer I can’t do my job. Is it all over, just like that?
Knit pickers will pipe up and taunt me with “It didn’t “die”. You KILLED it!”
I will have you know, my beloved Powerbook died of natural causes.
Water is natural.
Ergo, it died of natural causes when I flooded it with water.
I have been offline since the wonderful Aqua Girl parties in May. In fact, my Powerbook died of natural causes halfway through Aqua Girl. I never got to finish the job 😦 And it was a good one.
I have a new Toshiba laptop, I have serious Mac withdrawls, but most importantly I am making preparations to get back to work at Napkin Nights by the end of the month. In the coming days I will also be working on updating this blog and SobeStreets to bring everything up to date.
I look forward to entertaining you all again with my inane mutterings. I do so miss you all 🙂 and I see from the stats that this little blog ‘o mine has been having quite a party without me! Blast! Why am I always left out of the fun bits?
Soon my friends, soon we will be together again.
Aqua Girl 08:
Havana Nights at Nikki Beach and Club Nikki with DJ Dezrock and Miss M showcased all the finest Miami has to offer: gorgeous women, hot, steamy temperatures and sexy salsa rhythms to get the hips moving.
The Aqua Girls took over the Penrod complex with parties both downstairs in Nikki Beach and upstairs in Club Nikki. My new favorite DJ played a mix of the best in salsa and merengue blended with a little house music.
These girls were playing spin the bottle when I found them.
Now on its fifth year, Aqua Girl is the largest benefit women’s week in the United States. 100% of the proceeds raised during the week go directly back into the community.
Aqua Girl 08 is produced by Aqua Foundation for Women. The Aqua Foundation for Women was created to promote the strength, health, equality and visibility of South Florida’s lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LBTQ) women.

TAI Entertainment, publishers of 944 Magazine Miami, held their First Anniversary Party at the Gansevoort South in Miami Beach on May 9th.
I love 944 Magazine. They always throw good parties and they have discovered the secret to making Miamians go out early. I believe the doors opened at 9pm. I got there at 10pm and the rooftop was already at capacity. They wouldn’t let anyone in, including press, until someone left.

These two lovely ladies wanted me to put them on the cover of a magazine. They did such a good job posing for me that I didn’t have the heart to tell them that I don’t have a magazine. Maybe I should start one.
Miss Peru (right) and her cousin. Two very nice ladies.
We’ll probably be seeing much more of these two in the coming months. They are a new girl group and are busy in the studio right now. I wish I could read my writing so I could tell you what their band name is. Tuslila? Tuslika? I’ll figure it out eventually.
Nice guy. His handler, or whatever, said his name is HR Pufnstuf (sp?) but wouldn’t stick around long enough to spell it for me. When I Googled that name all I get is a tv show for kids. Anyone know his real name or spelling?
Edit to add: His name is Ken Baynes. Thank you CJ from the comments! 🙂
This young lady was so nice and turned to pose for me when she saw my camera, but then when she didn’t see a flash go off she must have thought I wasn’t shooting so she turned away and faced the other photographers. She had no idea I was shooting without flash so I could show all those pretty colors moving across her body.
Do click to see the large size image. It’s quite cool, if I may say so myself.
Atmoshphere – very cool lighting show on the pool. A lot of people probably missed it since everyone stayed away from the pool. Well everyone except that one guy…there’s always that one guy…
This one is cool too, click it!

Truly, a work of art
Cosplay at Sushi Samba is probably the funnest party going right now.
I would like to introduce to you my third husband. No, I don’t know why that girl is standing next to him. I’m sure there is a perfectly good explanation. And no, I’m not getting rid of the other two husbands. Why do you ask? A lady needs options, damn it!
I forgot to ask this one his name too. Oh well, I never was one for small talk.
Can I just tell you, Cameo fucking rocks! I know, I know, the name for Saturday is “Cameo Rocks” but they really need to add the adjective, because it does. Cameo so fucking rocks! OMG I love that club. Awesome, professional and polite staff. Beautiful crowd. Absolutely freaking great light show. A voyeur’s wet dream with all the balconies. A full house without that “OMG I’m a sardine” feeling. Best temperature control I’ve ever experienced in a club. Music level just right. And OMFG Shawn Rudnick! I love this guy!!
