PHOTOS – Aqua Girl 08 – Aqualicious Pool Party

Aqua Girl 08 – Aqualicious Pool Party at the Surfcomber Resort.
Aqua Girl pool party

I think this is the best party I have seen yet in Miami. Could have used a few guys, but whatever. heh heh

Seriously though, the pool at the Surfcomber was PACKED. I would guess there was easily three times as many people there for Aqua Girl than there was for WMC. I was in awe. Amazing turnout. I wish I was a lesbian because there were some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Wow.

My one and only gripe: no shade. Anywhere. For WMC there were lots of places to get out of the sun and cool off a bit. For Aqua Girl the weather was much hotter but there wasn’t any place to escape. I didn’t last barely 30 minutes before I had to call it a day because I was so over heated. And you know you don’t fuck around with our sun when your body says it’s time for a break.

Keep in mind i am the one who likes being hot. I am the one who doesn’t use A.C. in her apartment because even the lowest setting is too cold for me. And I couldn’t take the heat. If there was shaded areas I could have kept working but there was nothing.

I am so disappointed because this was such an awesome fucking party. I could have spend hours working it and still not covered half of the people there.

Boo hiss! 😦

My only consolation is that there were hella lotta other photographers there so hopefully everyone got as many pictures as they like.

When the link is ready at Napkin Nights I will update this post. Then you will be able to view the pics bigga.
Until then, enjoy the little view…

PHOTOS – Aqua Girl 08 Havana Nights at Nikki Beach

Aqua Girl 08:

Havana Nights at Nikki Beach and Club Nikki with DJ Dezrock and Miss M showcased all the finest Miami has to offer: gorgeous women, hot, steamy temperatures and sexy salsa rhythms to get the hips moving.

The Aqua Girls took over the Penrod complex with parties both downstairs in Nikki Beach and upstairs in Club Nikki. My new favorite DJ played a mix of the best in salsa and merengue blended with a little house music.

PHOTOS – Aqua Girl 08: Traffic Jam at Score

Traffic Jam with DJ Brynn Taylor at Score on Lincoln Rd kicked off the first night of parties for Aqua Girl 08. The ladies wore colored glow necklaces to signal their availability. Green for “Go for it”, Yellow for “Proceed with caution” and Red means “Stop”. Go-go dancers and drag queens Spikey Dykey, Rico Suave and Teddy D performed throughout the night.

Caution!

Photos – Cosplay Tuesdays at Sushi Samba

I love this party. I really, really do. I think the performers of CircX are absolutely brilliant. I bow very deeply to Diana, the leader of the troupe. Her ability to create visually stunning art each and every week is truly awe inspiring. Every week CircX does something entirely different from the week before. I don’t know where their ideas come from, but somewhere out there, there is a Muse working overtime to keep these people in business.

This week they had a burlesque show again. Very professional, well done and very sexy.

Photographer/DJ Tom Grizzle is also there shooting and he projects his pics up on the wall so you can see your image moments after it is taken. So cool! Resident DJ’s Lalo C and Jazzy Eyewear manage to play a perfect mix each week.

This is the portion of the show where I direct you to the link which leads you to the album located at Napkin Nights where you can download a copy of the photos for free. However, this particular week you won’t find most of these photos at NapkinNights as they were deemed “repetitive” and were deleted at break neck speed.

My apologies to everyone for whom I promised copies of the entire burlesque show. It was a good one, wasn’t it?

Bacardi B-Live 2008 Pics

PHOTOS – Bacardi B-Live 2008 at Bayfront Park – Sat Apr 18

I’m still getting a lot of people who are searching for B-Live pictures in the search engines. See people, this why when you see someone taking pictures you should go up to them and ask “OMG! Who are you shooting for!?!?” Would save you a lot of time.

You can find my photos from the B-Live event on the Napkin Nights website:
http://miami.napkinnights.com/pics/view_album.php?id=4615

There are 200 pictures in that gallery, so you should find a little something for everybody.
Here are some previews for you:

Everyone had a great time. The place was packed, there was Bacardi EVERYWHERE, drinks were reasonable ($7) and enough bars to keep the lines manageable. The toliets were another story… but they always are.

You know I’m not a big house music fan, but I still enjoyed the performances by Dave Navarro, DJ Scribble (his name should be DJ Scratchy), DJ Irie, Cedric Gervais (who is kinda cute), Deep Dish, Groove Armada, CircX performers, stilt walkers, naked girls in body paint, acrobats…
oh you know, just the usual Saturday afternoon party in Miami. Check out the pics. You’ be glad you did.

Soldier Ride Revisted

Soldier Ride – Feb 2006 – Wounded Warrior Project

On Feb 7, 2008 I blogged about my experience photographing the annual awareness raising effort for wounded military men, Soldier Ride, in Feb 2006 in South Beach. Now, two months later I still get hits each week from people who are searching for information on Soldier Ride.

It is for those of you looking that I have updated the photo gallery to include all of the photos I shot that day. The old gallery of just a few shots is still available on SobeStreets.

And now you have the option of seeing everything from that day in the new slide show. There are 195 photos there. The link takes you to the thumbnail page. Click on any thumbnail to start the slide show. All images in the slide show are large size (640px on the long side). Like this one:

I confess I wimped out and used Photoshop to make the slideshow instead of coding it myself like I normally do, but dude, 195 hand-coded pages is a HELLA LOTTA pages to write. Forgive me. If the web stats show that this is still a popular gallery then I will suck it up and code it all out properly.

Until then please enjoy the Photoshop convenience.

I put ALL the photos from that day into the slide show instead of picking a few like I did for the original gallery because if there is one thing I have learned over the years it is what I (the photographer) think is a good pic and what you (the end user) think is a good pic are rarely one and the same. So I put them all up there.

If you were there that day and you want any images for your own use please feel free to save as many as you like.
