I have returned!

You know how like when you wake up from a deep sleep and then you look down and realize that while you were sleeping someone came and cut off all your arms and your legs and you’re like “Fuuuuuuuuuuuck dude, I needed those.” and you’re like “This sucks. Now what am I supposed to do?” and you want to sit up and go find the bastards who did this and tell them to put your arms and legs back, but you can’t…because you can’t sit up, you can’t move, you can’t do anything except just sit there and stare and curse because you don’t have any arms or legs… and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

It was exactly like that. That is exactly what it was like the day I woke up and saw that my computer had died. I was in shock for a long time, not knowing what to do. Without a computer I can’t do my job. Is it all over, just like that?

Knit pickers will pipe up and taunt me with “It didn’t “die”. You KILLED it!”

I will have you know, my beloved Powerbook died of natural causes.

Water is natural.

Ergo, it died of natural causes when I flooded it with water.

I have been offline since the wonderful Aqua Girl parties in May. In fact, my Powerbook died of natural causes halfway through Aqua Girl. I never got to finish the job 😦 And it was a good one.

I have a new Toshiba laptop, I have serious Mac withdrawls, but most importantly I am making preparations to get back to work at Napkin Nights by the end of the month. In the coming days I will also be working on updating this blog and SobeStreets to bring everything up to date.

I look forward to entertaining you all again with my inane mutterings. I do so miss you all 🙂 and I see from the stats that this little blog ‘o mine has been having quite a party without me! Blast! Why am I always left out of the fun bits?

Soon my friends, soon we will be together again.

I survived Conference!

I survived! I got through my first Winter Music Conference experience in one piece. Conference kicked my ass, both mentally and physically. There was non-stop activities for 6 days, lots of running from place to place, There were a lot of frustrations and a lot of “OMG I can’t believe I actually get paid to do this shit!” moments, and I can’t wait to do it all over again.

It was a great learning experience and I am happy I did it. I got to meet a lot of wonderful people and had a really great time, even when things like waiting 55 minutes for the South Beach Local (quarter bus) to arrive were driving me insane. Came thisclose to getting jumped Friday night when taking the S bus home when two guys cornered me in the back of the bus. Saw the same two guys getting busted on Lincoln Road the next night.

I had an absolutely fabulous time at the Club World Awards at Set.

Enjoyed all the lovely eye candy strutting around the pool parties.
OMG, I think I’m in love.

Somehow managed to not get ANY sun myself (sunblock really does block the sun!).

Although I am happy so many music fans came to Miami for this event, I myself totally do not understand this genre. It all sounds the same to me and it seems rather repetitive and boring.

As many people know, I listen to a lot of Latin music; salsa, merengue, bachatta stuff llike that. Music that you really dance to. Music that makes your body move.

But this so called “dance music”… there isn’t any dancing! People just jump up and down. This shouldn’t be called dance music, it isn’t even suited for people. It is more appropriate for rabbits to hop to.

And then it hit me. Oh my god! That must explain the bunny at the National pool party!

You can see all the pics from WMC at Napkin Nights Miami and Talk Nightlife.

I hope you enjoy.

I would like to introduce to you my third husband. No, I don’t know why that girl is standing next to him. I’m sure there is a perfectly good explanation. And no, I’m not getting rid of the other two husbands. Why do you ask? A lady needs options, damn it!

I forgot to ask this one his name too. Oh well, I never was one for small talk.

Can I just tell you, Cameo fucking rocks! I know, I know, the name for Saturday is “Cameo Rocks” but they really need to add the adjective, because it does. Cameo so fucking rocks! OMG I love that club. Awesome, professional and polite staff. Beautiful crowd. Absolutely freaking great light show. A voyeur’s wet dream with all the balconies. A full house without that “OMG I’m a sardine” feeling. Best temperature control I’ve ever experienced in a club. Music level just right. And OMFG Shawn Rudnick! I love this guy!!

Hello everybody.

I would like to introduce to you some guy posing with my two new husbands.

I forgot to ask their names. Conversation probably won’t be a huge priority in this relationship. Let’s just call them First and Next.

The boys above link to the gallery on Miami Napkin Nights. This one does too:

You may have noticed that I have been a little quiet on updating posts this week. I am fighting with Earthlink right now to try to get my DSL line working again. It has been out since WEDNESDAY and I’m not bitter or anything, BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT HAS BEEN FOUR DAYS NOW! WTF?

I’m rocking the dial-up in the meantime. Trying to post through my tears. Things should be back to normal shortly. Until then, please check out my pics on Napkin Nights and let my know what you think. My profile over there is TamiMiami

If you see me in the club come say hi. I will be at either Cameo or Mansion tonight. And Nikki/Pearl Sunday night. See you there!

Sunday Nights at Pearl

It’s good to be back. Sunday night at Pearl Lounge was a blast.

Never say never…

When I said I probably wouldn’t be doing much night club work anymore I had a little chuckle to myself because every time I say ‘never’ I end up doing it. This time is no different.

When I learned that Napkin Nights is now in Miami I jumped at the chance to join the team. I began working with them this weekend. You can see my photos at the Napkin Nights website. Follow the link below.
